Class Waka as a Metaphor for Learning

After seeing this whakatauki during one of our TOD, I knew it was perfect to use alongside our waka metaphor for learning. Our waka is referred to often and relates perfectly to learning, mindset and behaviour management. I hope to grow the class so they see themselves as a team or a whanau, paddling alongside one another, each person important and working together to ensure our waka (learning journey) moves forward. The taniwha (drawn and painted by Isabelle) is an example of the challenges we'll face along the way.
